About Georgiy Balyuk
Georgiy Balyuk is a software engineer of Ukrainian descent. Born in Ukraine on July 22, 1999, he moved to the United States with his family at the age of three.
Georgiy spent most of his life in suburban neighborhoods north of Chicago and currently lives in Canton, Georgia. He has worked as a software engineer at State Farm for nearly two years and is looking forward to his second anniversary with the company in mid-2025.
Georgiy’s position at State Farm is ideally suited to his passion for developing new software programs via cloud scaling technology. He also enjoys working with AI and neural networks.
Educational Background
Georgiy is currently enrolled at DePaul University in Chicago, where he is working toward earning his Master’s Degree in software development. He has been on the Dean’s Board at the university almost throughout his entire stay and expects to complete his studies in the fall of 2025.
Work Experience
Georgiy Balyuk has an impressive career history despite his relatively young age. He has been promoted several times within his field and looks forward to a lengthy and rewarding career in software engineering.
From August 2021 to April 2023, Georgiy worked as a software engineer at Fiserv Inc. in Alpharetta, Georgia. His position at the firm required him to build large scalable applications in Java/Spring according to micro-service architecture patterns and best coding practices. He also worked in a CI/CD environment, focusing mainly on automation, supporting high-scale pipelines, and swift cloud deployment.
As a software engineer, Georgiy was expected to deliver code across all environments, ensuring code and script validation. He routinely provided solutions for applications supporting payment and debit systems, as well as tokenization and authentication security.
From April 2023 to the present, Georgiy has been working as a software engineer for State Farm in Sandy Springs, Georgia. His primary responsibilities include designing and developing advanced AWS architecture solutions and leveraging various services to optimize performance and scalability.
In the relatively short time he has been at State Farm, Georgiy has built an internal app monitoring platform that enhanced system reliability and streamlined operational workflows. He also supported application development for scrubbing data, ensuring data quality and compliance with organizational standards.
Georgiy has been called upon to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative cloud solutions. His efforts have led to increased efficiency and reduced costs within the company.
Georgiy is Oracle-certified in Java SE 8 (OCA). This certification displays his proficiency in Java programming fundamentals, including object-oriented principles, core syntax, and essential APIs such as collections and streams.
Consequently, Georgiy has a high level of capability in handling modular applications, exception management, and functional programming. He has also consistently demonstrated a strong foundation for building Java applications and the potential to advance to more complex concept development roles.
Programming Projects
Georgiy has participated in many programming projects and competitions over the years. He was a co-developer for an internal configuration adapter project, which involved the creation of an adapter to connect two major platforms with different data and code structures.
He was also the lead developer in a car rental platform project, which involved the creation of a car rental service website for renting out cars and managing customer data and a restaurant data management system, which provided restaurant employees with a data management website.
Charitable Works
Georgiy Balyuk has performed volunteer work for the YMCA in Illinois. His service demonstrated a commitment to community welfare and showcased a range of skills, including teamwork, communication, leadership, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Georgiy is an avid traveler who’s been fortunate to visit many different states and regions in the US. He is especially enamored with the local culture and sights of Savannah, Georgia, although he is quick to admit that he enjoyed Houston’s culinary scene the most.
Along with his passion for software development and technology, Georgiy also has a keen interest in economics. He is an ardent follower of the financial market and is very knowledgeable about stocks, options, and ETFs. Consequently, friends and family often come to him for advice on their portfolios, and he is always happy to oblige.
Georgiy is a proud guardian to an energetic white fluffy Samoyed. In his free time, he and his furry companion can be seen playing catch together or enjoying long walks.
Georgiy is a bit of a film and TV buff, beginning in college when he took a few film and cinematography courses. His favorite TV show is Lost, and his favorite movie is Beverly Hills Ninja. He is also an enthusiastic collector of modern graded and ungraded cards, particularly Pokémon.
One of Georgiy’s other passions is food. A certified foodie with a particular affinity for the Houston food scene, he enjoys visiting the many fine restaurants in Atlanta. He is especially fond of Yuka, Prime120, and Montaluce Winery and Restaurant.
